My health science studies have prepared me for a future in healthcare. The knowledge that I have gained throughout my health science courses is diverse, and something that I will definitely rely on in my future career as an occupational therapist. The following assignments helped me to research areas of healthcare in a more in depth manner, leading to an expansion of my knowledge in these specific fields. Being able to closely examine certain topics, in addition to the general knowledge gained from class, has helped me to develop a detail oriented outlook on the importance and impact of each choice that we make in relation to our health.

Prenatal Care and Folic Acid Literature Review

This paper was one of the most detailed and intricate papers that I wrote throughout college. I focused on the importance of prenatal care and folic acid during pregnancy. I did a great amount of research to be able report my findings in the form of a literature review. I incorporated class teachings like health theories and policy factors to support my findings.

Term Paper 

This paper served as a way to further discuss how the Covid pandemic affected the organizational structure and management of differing public facilities. I chose to focus on how the reopening of public schools was approached in the upstate of South Carolina. I interviewed a former South Carolina teacher that gave invaluable insight into handling the classroom during the pandemic. I used techniques and concepts taught in class to help form an understanding of important topics to focus on and expand upon.
